- Vocabulary: Related to celebration.

- Grammar:    Relative clauses, simple past, past progressive.

b. Skills: Reading, less listening, writing and speaking.

c. Attitude: Ss will be educated about celebrations.

Aims:Make students interested in the lesson
- T asks, Ss answer the questions.
- T introduces something about Father’s Day and the situation of the text.
- T plays the tape once.
Act 3: While-reading
Aims:Help ss know more about the lesson
- T introduces new words and explains.
- Ss give the meaning of new words.
- Ss practice reading new words after teacher.
- T calls some Ss to read new words.
- T corrects students’ pronunciation if necessary.
- T has Ss read the text in silence.
- T calls some Ss to read the text before the class.
- T explains the questions.
- T has Ss work in pairs. (read the text again, then ask answer the questions)

Act 1: Warm up 
- T asks Ss to write the relative pronouns on the board.
- Ss write on the board.
* The relative pronouns:
Who, Whom, which ...
Knowledge formation activities 
Act 2: Presentation 
* Ss know how to use the relative pronouns.
- T explains the requirement and the example.
- T explains the way to join sentences using relative clauses with relative pronoun “which”.
Act 3: Practice 
* Ss practice the exercises correcty.
- T has Ss read the sentences.
- Ss read the sentences and do the exercises.
- Ss compare the answers in pairs.
- T calls some Ss to give the answers.
- T checks and corrects the answers if necessary.
- Ss copy down the correct answers.
1. Join the sentences. Use relative clauses.
Ex: Tet is a festival. Tet occurs in late January or early February.

f. On my mom’s birthday my dad gave her roses, which were very sweet and beautiful.

a. Thu Ha is not satisfied with her preparations for Tet even though she has decorated her house and made plenty of cakes.

c. We went to Ha Noi to watch the parade on the National Day last year though we live in Nam Dinh.
d. Many tourists enjoy festivals in Viet Nam though they do not understand Vietnamese culture very much.
e. Even though in Australia Christmas season is in summer, Australians enjoy Christmas as much as people in European countries do.
f. Although Jim came to the show late due to the traffic jam, he could see the main part of the show.
4. Look at the pictures. Complete the sentences. Use the correct tense of the verbs and the information.
